VAZGEN  MANUKYAN

The representatives of all influential pro-authority parties took part in the NDU 16th session. And the interesting was that the politicians of the ARF and Orinats Erkir wished the NDU success when this party informed about the aims of its activities about changes not excluding the revolution.

The NDU leader Vazgen Manoukian said in his speech summarizing the political orientations of the party: "There is accumulated complaint inside all of us. We ourselves aren't in consent with the country as we live in two Armenias. One of them is the real Armenia where we live and fight, loosing or winning. And there is another Armenia the design of which is inside our minds and it coincides with others. The contrast of that project is great which exists in our minds, genes, way of thinking, history and dreams and in the country where we live."
Describing the system of ruling in our country the NDU leader used the "wasting authority" description mentioning that the nature, mines etc. are wasted and soon the results of the victory, as it also will become a type of trade. Do you imagine what a sweet piece it is? You can keep your authority by concessions, and get hundreds of million dollars." He also mentioned that those spent money also become investments in Armenia, hotels and restaurants are built. "But that way is far from the way by which the world goes." According to Vazgen Manoukian it only seems from the first sight that authority is condemned but there were a lot of countries in the same situation. "This system can be strengthened and remain for decades. Stressing that nothing happens itself Mr. Manukian said: "If people like us aren't called to conscription, who don't fight for the future of the country it won't be changed."
The first ally in this fight are the people as the NDU leader considers: " Pay attention people always vote against the authorities and it isn't important for whom they vote. The second powerful ally is born inside the authority. Vazgen Manoukian is sure that there are a lot of politicians who understand that this way is condemned and they, their sons and grandsons will suffer so they must collaborate with them. The third ally is the youth and only the forth one is the West.
Vazgen Manukian stressed that they must know clearly what they want for their future and also our type of people must unify as the "war of types is expected, another type has already declared war to ours. And it has won now. He was sure that the NDU has its mission. But you can't do it lonely. There aren't even three parties which can form government from their personnel."
The guests of the session made speeches on the necessity of unifying. In particularly Ashot Manucharian mentioned that if the opposition parties unified the people would find power in that unity. While Aram Sargsian opposed mentioning that the society and not the parties must be unified. By the way Aram Sargsian suggested that each of us must confess for our sins in the passing period. We are all guilty. And the only way of confessing is in realizing a velvet revolution. While Aram Haroutiunian suggested confessing and admitting that they were guilty that Vazgen Manukian didn't become a president in 1996 otherwise we can't speak about democracy after loosing the authority.
